About Jerry

Gerard “ Jerry” McManus is running for a position on the Winslow Township School Board, fueled by a passion to address the critical challenges facing our community's educational system. Growing up in a household led by a single immigrant mother, Jerry understands firsthand the value of quality education and the impact it can have on individuals and communities.

Early Life and Education:

Jerry was raised by a resilient single mother who immigrated to this country in pursuit of a better life. Witnessing his mother's determination and sacrifices ignited in him a profound appreciation for education as a powerful tool for upward mobility. He pursued higher education at Glassboro State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Jerry's academic achievements highlighted the potential that quality education can unlock, and he is committed to ensuring every student in our district has access to the same opportunities.

Community Involvement:

Jerry has been an active and engaged member of our community for 17 years, dedicating his time and expertise to various community initiatives. He is deeply involved in a local mentoring program, where he mentors disadvantaged youth, providing guidance and support to help them overcome obstacles and succeed academically.

In addition to his mentoring work, Jerry has served as a youth pastor at Victory Bible Church for 12 years. This experience has given him a unique perspective on the needs and aspirations of the youth within our community, and he is driven to advocate for educational policies that align with their growth and development.

Professional Success and Local Roots:

As a highly successful local real estate agent, Jerry understands the importance of community stability and the correlation between quality education and property values. His business acumen and experience navigating the local real estate market uniquely position him to address the intersection of education and housing within our community.
